🔒 100% On-Device Privacy Guarantee
Your photos and documents never leave your device. All compression, resizing, cropping, and PDF operations run strictly locally on your phone. Original photos, working/modified photos, and PDF documents are processed entirely on-device and are never collected, transmitted, or uploaded to any server or third-party cloud.
1. Introduction
Saawan Apps ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Photo Compress mobile application for Android. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles your information when you use Photo Compress.
Photo Compress does not require you to create an account, register, sign in, or provide any personal details such as your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
2. Data Collection and Processing
Photo, Document, and Image Data
Photo Compress is designed strictly as a local, client-side utility:
- No Cloud Uploads: Original photos, working or modified copies, and PDF documents you select or generate are loaded into local device memory and processed solely within your device. They are never collected, transmitted, or uploaded to any external server or cloud service.
- Temporary Storage: Any temporary cache or working files created during processing are stored in the app's internal private cache directory and purged automatically when no longer needed.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
To support ongoing maintenance and provide this application for free, Photo Compress displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process information in accordance with Google's Advertising Privacy Policies, including:
- Advertising Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (GAID) or other device identifiers used for ad delivery, reporting, and personalization (where permitted).
- Device and Diagnostic Information: Device model, operating system version, carrier, network connection type, and ad interaction metrics (such as impressions and clicks).
- General Location Data: Non-precise location inferred from your IP address to deliver regionally relevant advertisements.
You can opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising ID at any time via your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads or Settings > Privacy > Ads).
Google Play Services
The App utilizes Google Play Services, which may independently collect device identifiers and diagnostic data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
Anonymous Telemetry, Configuration, and Crash Reports
To ensure app stability, deliver dynamic feature configurations, identify crashes, and guide performance improvements, Photo Compress may collect limited, non-personally identifiable diagnostic data:
- Google Firebase Analytics (Opt-In): With your consent, the app logs anonymous aggregated events (such as screen visits, features used, and device posture/orientation). You can opt in or opt out anytime in Settings > Share anonymous usage data.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: If the app experiences an unexpected error, crash reports containing stack traces and operating system versions are captured to help us fix the defect. You can disable this at any time in Settings > Send crash reports.
- Google Firebase Remote Config: Periodically checks and retrieves anonymous application configuration parameters (such as feature flags and advertising configurations) without transmitting personal user identifiers.
Feedback and User Support Channels
When you submit feedback, suggestions, error reports, or support requests, the App handles transmission through one of two channels:
- Google Firebase Backend: Submitted directly in-app via an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored securely on Google Cloud Platform and Firebase infrastructure (Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions) hosted by Google LLC, primarily within data centers located in the United States. Submitted data may include your feedback text, star rating, non-identifying device diagnostics (model, OS, app version, language), and optional screenshot attachments.
- Email Channel: Transmitted via your device's email client directly to our support inbox (
saawanapps@gmail.com), containing your message text and optional pre-populated device diagnostics.
The App may use either of these channels for feedback based on its configuration and operational availability (such as falling back to email when network conditions, service configuration, or device capabilities dictate), which may change without user consent or prior notification. We use feedback information solely to diagnose technical issues, address inquiries, and improve the app. We do not sell, rent, or share your feedback with any third party.
3. Device Permissions
Photo Compress requests only the permissions strictly required to perform its functions:
- Media and Photo Access: Used exclusively to allow you to select photos for editing and to save processed outputs to your device storage (such as your Pictures, DCIM, or Documents directory).
- Camera (Via System Camera App): If you choose to capture a photo, the App delegates to your device's default camera application. Photo Compress does not directly access the camera hardware or request camera permissions. The captured photo is returned to the App and processed locally.
- Internet Access: Used to communicate with Google services: loading advertisements via Google AdMob, sending telemetry/crash reports (subject to your settings preferences), and submitting feedback if you choose to do so.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
The app integrates services provided by Google LLC:
5. Data Retention
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports are retained by Google Firebase for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics events are retained for up to 14 months, after which they are automatically deleted.
- Feedback & Attachments (via Firebase): User feedback reports, star ratings, diagnostics metadata, and optional screenshot attachments submitted through the Firebase channel are stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage. All feedback data and uploaded attachments are retained for a maximum of 1 year (365 days), after which they are permanently and automatically deleted via automated Time-To-Live (TTL) and storage lifecycle policies. Daily submission rate-limit records are purged automatically after 2 days.
- Feedback & Attachments (via Email): Feedback messages and any file attachments transmitted via email are stored in our standard email provider. We retain feedback emails and attachments for as long as necessary to resolve the inquiry, after which they may be deleted at our discretion. Your email address, feedback content, and attachments are not exported, stored in any external database, or shared with any third party.
6. International Data Transfers
The third-party services and backend infrastructure integrated into the App (Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Cloud / Firebase feedback storage) are operated by Google LLC, which may process and store data in the United States or other countries where Google operates data centers. By using the App or submitting feedback, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.
7. Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data processed by the App and its integrated third-party services:
- Right to Access: Request information about what data is collected about you.
- Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your data.
- Right to Opt Out: Disable analytics and crash reporting via in-app Settings; opt out of personalized ads via device settings.
- Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Right to Lodge a Complaint: File a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Because Photo Compress processes all photos, working edits, and PDF documents entirely on-device and does not maintain user accounts or profiles, the primary data collected pertains to advertising identifiers, anonymous analytics, and crash diagnostics — all managed through Google's services.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at saawanapps@gmail.com. For data held by Google services, refer to Google's Privacy Policy and data controls.
Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA Users):
- Advertising: Legitimate interest in sustaining a free application, subject to your right to opt out of personalized ads.
- Analytics: Consent (opt-in via in-app Settings).
- Crash Reports: Legitimate interest in maintaining app stability and fixing defects.
8. Children's Privacy
Photo Compress does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is a general-utility tool that operates without account creation or personal profiles.
9. Security
Because all image and PDF document processing takes place directly on your device, your photos, working edits, and documents remain secure within Android's sandboxed application environment and are never exposed over the network.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
